BUDDING ARTIST?
The saying "you never cease to amaze me" sounds so cliche but it is so true when it comes to Reyn. We got him this drawing pad for the plane ride to Vegas in 2009 (I think he was not quite three at the time). He paid very little attention to it for a long time. He'd scribble on it every now and then but nothing to involved or exciting.
The all of a sudden a couple weeks before our trip to Hawaii, he sat down and started drawing while he made up a story. If I hadn't been in the room at the time, I would have never believed he drew this image. He said it was a penguin.
Needless to say we brought the drawing pad along for the plane ride to Hawaii and while we were there he decided to tell everyone a story about dinosaurs. That's when he came up with this Stegosaurus image.
Reyn has since traded in the drawing pad for coloring books. Thanks to Grandma Gail for the ginormous Star Wars coloring book and Aunty Ann's Crayola invisible ink Toy Story & Dinosaurs coloring books, his new focus is on coloring inside of the lines. I know we shouldn't let him do it but he colors every night at the dinner table. Don't want to stifle his creativity. Besides it's good practice for Kindergarten.
